Photo 5 Nov 5 notes A beautiful beer for a beautiful day
As you can see, the beer pours a clear, heart-warming golden-orange that brought a smile to my face. I finally got to cleaning my apartment, and the clarity of the beer was quite the reward. Unfortunately, not much head came from the pour, but the bottle has been sitting for two months. The weak smell of the malts and yeast are probably attributed to the lack of head [or from smoking too much]. At 102 IBUs [“4 U”] and 8% ABV, this is a delicious imperial IPA. Lagunitas always has pretty good beers for cheap. The first sip cascaded flavors of grapefruit, coriander, and even raspberry across my tongue. I might have shivered a little from the sudden complex, yet pleasant, flavors that activated my senses. It’s pretty warm today, so it was nice to get this refreshment. Fuck, I love beer.
I dare say you can’t get a better bang for your buck on any other IPA

thelowtide asked: Hey man! Really like your blog, I am about to brew my first beer this sunday, definitely excited for it and looking forward to your homebrewing posts. -Kevan (whatiskevandrinking)

Thank you very much! Congrats on starting some homebrew. Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll answer them as best I can. I’ll be posting some more homebrew stuff very soon. My Anchor Porter clone is just about finished :)

P.S. How do you think Old Viscosity compares to Alesmith Speedway Stout?

1st batch, Rye IPA, seems very promising! Had to substitute Cascade hops for Simacoe and added extra Northern Brewer hops. One more week of bottle conditioning, and I’ll know for sure how it came out.

OG = 1.058

Estimated IBUs = 89.56 (Tinseth); 97.1 (Rager)

Anonymous asked: Have you ever noticed that the Indian gal on Land O'Lakes butter is holding a box of Land O'Lakes butter that has a picture of her holding a box of Land O'Lakes butter? Just curious if you had or not.

Wow, I have never noticed that before. That’s awesome. I think I’m only buying Land O’Lakes butter from now on. Thanks for the info!
